Breeding Philosophy
We breed dogs with genetics we desire. Testing with NAVHDA(North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association) helps us improve our breeding program. We cater to the foot hunter who wants a versatile hunting and family companion.
In order to ensure competence we breed field and hunt tested shorthairs. Besides wild bird hunting and hunt testing our dogs, another way we produce exceptional bird dogs is through targeting recent ancestors that have proven hunting abilities.
Bettering the breed is our #1 goal. To do so, we stick to these standards:
- PennHIP = a radiographic screening technique to evaluate the laxity/looseness in canine hips and determine their risk of developing degenerative joint disease.
- CLEAR of LD, CD, DM, vWD:
- Lupoid Dermatosis = skin lesions, lameness, scaling, reddening of the skin, erosions/ulcers, scarring, disfiguration, decreased quality of life, progresses to joint pain, low sperm count in males which progresses to absence of sperm, irregular heat cycles in females. Dogs with this disease have dramatically shortened life expectancies and are generally humanely euthanized upon diagnosis.
- Cone Degeneration = loss of cone function results in day-blindness and decreased visual acuity.
- Degenerative Myelopathy = an inherited neurologic disorder of dogs characterized by gradual muscle wasting and loss of coordination typically beginning in the hind limbs.
- von Willebrand Disease II = an inherited bleeding disorder resulting from a lack or reduced level of a normal blood clotting protein and is characterized by spontaneous hemorrhaging and prolonged bleeding after physical trauma.
- Normal Bite and Eyes.
- Prized in NAVHDA Natural Ability and if timing allows Utility Hunt Tests before first breeding.
- Both parents will have at least two hunting seasons under their belts.
Litter Info
Each puppy is $3,300 of which a $800 deposit is required. We take a limited number of deposits on each gender per litter. We give priority to hunting and testing homes, which means first come first serve is not our policy. We want you to be fully satisfied! When you are, we know the puppy is going to a good home.
Before puppies go home around 8 weeks of age they will be introduced to children, adults, dogs, birds, retrieving, gun fire, and water.

Thunder X Glaze
Thunder - Standing Stones Young Gun GUN MH JHR UT-I
Thunder has impressed us with his drive, desire, independence, natural ability, and trainability from the very beginning! He has a never quit, retrieve-all-day attitude. He learned obedience training and house manners so quickly and could settle down and behave like one of the big dogs! On his first hunting trip to Montana he immediately started hunting independently of the other dogs! He didn’t need to follow the pack of older, more experienced dogs, at just 5 months old he was already hunting for himself, and covering ground. With very little actual training, other than collar conditioning to recall, a bird intro, and gunfire intro, he pointed his own birds, retrieved to hand naturally, tracked and found cripples that were missed by some of the other dogs on the ground! He gets along very well with other dogs, behaves in the house, and is such a sweet boy with children. Pretty much the complete package!

Glaze - Table Rock Dunking Donuts NA-3
Glaze is has been a very natural bird dog, everything has come easy to her! She uses the wind really well, is my best dead game tracker, and absolutely loves/lives to retrieve! She is perfect for foot hunting as her style is at a pace where just about any hunter can keep up. She's very affectionate and loves being held. She ranges around 400 yards in the chukar hills. She had 61% of the finds as well as 59% of the retrieves from last season! She really took it to the next level during her second season by hunting like a veteran dog before she was even 2! She received 96/112 points in her Natural Ability Hunt Test.

Doc - Standing Stones El Tesoro Medicine Man MH UT-1
Doc’s calm, gentle disposition and incredibly sweet personality is offset by his fire in the field. He is very well-behaved in the house and loves and respects children. He is happy to relax calmly on his dog bed all day or snuggle on the couch in the evenings. Doc’s house manners and incredible livability is exactly what we look for from our dogs in the home. But of course, we don’t want to sacrifice hunting ability and instinct for calmness in the house. And with Doc we have such a great blend of the two. He is fast and flashy in the field and covers ground with style. He has an incredible natural retrieving desire and is extremely trainable. This dog has the traits both in the house and in the field that we are breeding for!

Mamba - Table Rock Flamethrower Mentality NA-3
Mamba knows her job and does it with a happy attitude. She loves to find birds and can't stand it when her number isn't called. She's developed a beautiful retrieve and knows how close to get to a covey before they take flight, which has helped us bag more birds. She's great with our children and listens really well. Mamba is out of our very own Rain! Her sire is FC AFC VC Saddlerock's Paint It Black MHA. She ranges around 200-400 yards and loves to please which makes hunting and training with her so much fun! She received 92/112 points in her Natural Ability hunt test at 6 months of age.
